Renby Grid

Renby Grid solves the problem of chute blockages due to meshes in chutes Renby Grid

When bulk materials are being conveyed through a process, occasionally they will pick up foreign objects. Often a fixed mesh is placed across the chute to catch any oversize objects. This often introduces a new problem whereby the chute blocks due to bridging across the mesh. The Patented Renby Grid was developed to address this problem. The bars of the Renby Grid have been designed such that they move as the material flows past, thereby breaking bridges formed elsewhere on the grid. This then keeps the whole flow area free flowing. There are no actuators on this system as it is "powered by gravity"

Renby Active Grid catches foreign objects in sticky materials Renby Active Grid

A development of the Renby Grid principle, this patent applied for system can be used for sticky products which will bridge readily over several hundreds of millimetres chute width. The top row of bars are actuated so that they constantly break the bridge of material above the grid. This keeps the sticky material flowing but prevents large lumps or foreign objects entering the process and eliminates stoppages on sensitive equipment elsewhere.
